Carpet Contractors Inc. was established in September of 1975.

Founders of the company were Mr. Nicholas D. Botaitis and R. Devon Bell who were soon joined by E. Wolfe. Our first office was at 1104 Harrison Street in San Francisco. In 1976 R. Devon Bell left the company and in the same year we acquired a 2,000 square foot warehouse on 7th Street. At that time, Mr. Kostas Botaitis, Nicholas' brother, engineer-builder from Greece, joined the company. In 1978 we moved into our 14,000 square foot warehouse at 1821 15th Street, the largest carpet facility in San Francisco. During the same year we signed a contract with Macy's department stores to become their sole installer for all the sales they made to the public through 1983.

In 1978 Mr. Wolf's interest in the company was bought out by Nicholas D. Botaitis who in continuation purchased Calico Industries, Inc. DBA Calico Carpet Mills in Los Angeles. During the oil embargo of 1980 Calico was forced to shut down at which time the tufting equipment was moved to San Francisco. Calico Carpet Mills was the first and only carpet mill operating in San Francisco until 1986.

In 1999 after 21 years we moved to our present facility at 3210 Geary Boulevard in San Francisco and opened another location at 404 Talbert Street in Daly City. Around the same time, Demetri N. Botaitis, Nicholas' son, completed his education in Santa Barbara and formally joined the company.

In 2006 we bought our new 25,000 square foot Richmond facility at 3411 Regatta Boulevard. The property is built on 1.2 acres of land, part of Regatta Business Center, making it the largest showroom and warehouse in Northern California. The facility is centrally located on Highway 580 at the Regatta Boulevard exit, 2 miles from Highway 80 and 2 miles from the San Rafael Bridge.

Due to the increase of our workload and need of additional inventory for our apartment management customers we had to move to a new location. Our new warehouse, a 60,000 square feet facility, is at 4909-4911 Central Ave. in Richmond next to Costco.

The success and longevity of our company can be attributed to the vision of Mr. Botaitis, the high quality of products manufactured by our select vendors, the excellent workmanship of our installers, the hard work of our sales people and office personnel along with the commitment from the Botaitis Family to give our customers the best value....

"WE AIM TO KEEP IT THAT WAY!"
